The party adopted for the Realengo urban project was generated from the neighborhood cells, mainly squares surrounded by residences. The squares are spaces that also function as leisure area and place of access to the units. Every five cells, articulated by an internal route, form a residential group, which in turn is organized by public roads branched from a central mall. The residential groups are arranged around a central block, where the collective uses of leisure and living are located.
Areas for local commercial use were designed and the corners were intended for two-story multifamily housing units. The land is wooded and the units have cross ventilation, providing thermal comfort inside and outside the houses. The internal plants are flexible, being able to have two or three quarters. The implementation of selective waste collection, sewage treatment plant, permeable soils and the reuse of rainwater were thought for the sake of sustainability.
