The development is located 200m from Arcos da Lapa, in the central area of Rio de Janeiro. Despite Bohemian life and a broad infrastructure of transportation, services, and commerce, Lapa's neighborhood was suffering from the violence and urban degradation of the region. The program Living in the Center, City Hall, came as an attempt to remedy this situation.
In this process of revitalization, the Colors of Lapa represented a kind of anchor: the program provides six blocks of multifamily housing, with 688 units in total, commerce, and leisure on the ground floor. The built areas, interspersed by green spaces, and the dynamics of the facade speak the language of the old houses around.
